30 When you are in tribulation & all these things come upon you, in the latter days you will turn to the Lord your God & be obedient to His voice.

1 Samuel 10:17-19 AMPC And Samuel called the people together to the Lord at Mizpah 18 & said to the Israelites, Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: It was I Who brought up Israel out of Egypt & delivered you out of the hands of the Egyptians & of all the kingdoms that oppressed you.
19 But you have this day rejected your God, Who Himself saves you from all your calamities & distresses; ( KJV says adversities & tribulations) & you have said to Him, No! Set a king over us. So now present yourselves before the Lord by your tribes & by your thousands.
1 Samuel 26:21-24 KJV 21 Then said Saul, I have sinned: return, my son David: for I will no more do thee harm, because my soul was precious in thine eyes this day: behold, I have played the fool, & have erred exceedingly.

Matthew 13:18-21 AMPC
18 Listen then to the [meaning of the] parable of the sower: 19 While anyone is hearing the Word of the kingdom & does not grasp & comprehend it, the evil one comes & snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the roadside. 20 As for what was sown on thin (rocky) soil, this is he who hears the Word & at once welcomes & accepts it with joy;
21 Yet it has no real root in him, but is temporary (inconstant, & lasts but a little while); & when affliction or trouble (tribulation in KJV) or persecution comes on account of the Word, at once he is caused to stumble [he is repelled & begins to distrust & desert Him Whom he ought to trust & obey] & he falls away.
Matthew 24:19-22 AMPC 19 And alas for the women who are pregnant & for those who have nursing babies in those days! 20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation (affliction, distress, & oppression) such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now—no, & never will be [again]. 22 And if those days had not been shortened, no human being would endure & survive, but for the sake of the elect (God’s chosen ones) those days will be shortened.
Matthew 24:27-30 AMPC 27 For just as the lightning flashes from the east & shines & is seen as far as the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
28 Wherever there is a fallen body (a corpse), there the vultures (or eagles) will flock together.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not shed its light, & the stars will fall from the sky, & the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn & beat their breasts & lament in anguish, & they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power & great glory [in brilliancy & splendor].
Mark 13:19-27 AMPC 19 For at that time there will be such affliction (oppression & tribulation) as has not been from the beginning of the creation which God created until this particular time—& positively never will be [again].
20 And unless the Lord had shortened the days, no human being would be saved (rescued); but for the sake of the elect, His chosen ones (those whom He picked out for Himself), He has shortened the days.
21 And then if anyone says to you, See, here is the Christ (the Messiah)! or, Look, there He is! do not believe it.
22 False Christs (Messiahs) & false prophets will arise & show signs & [work] miracles to deceive & lead astray, if possible, even the elect (those God has chosen out for Himself).
23 But look to yourselves & be on your guard; I have told you everything beforehand.
24 But in those days, after [the affliction & oppression & distress of] that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, & the moon will not give its light;
25 And the stars will be falling from the sky, & the powers in the heavens will be shaken.
26 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with great (kingly) power & glory (majesty & splendor).
27 And then He will send out the angels & will gather together His elect (those He has picked out for Himself) from the four winds, from the farthest bounds of the earth to the farthest bounds of heaven.
John 16:30-33 KJV 30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, & needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? 32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, & shall leave me alone: & yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
ACTS 14:21-22 KJV
21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, & had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, & to Iconium, & Antioch, 22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, & exhorting them to continue in the faith, & that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
Romans 2:8-9 AMPC 8 But for those who are self-seeking & self-willed & disobedient to the Truth but responsive to wickedness, there will be indignation & wrath. 9 [And] there will be tribulation & anguish & calamity & constraint for every soul of man who [habitually] does evil, the Jew first & also the Greek (Gentile).
Romans 5:1-6 AMPC 5 Therefore, since we are justified (acquitted, declared righteous, & given a right standing with God) through faith, let us [grasp the fact that we] have [the peace of reconciliation to hold & to enjoy] peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).
2 Through Him also we have [our] access (entrance, introduction) by faith into this grace (state of God’s favor) in which we [firmly & safely] stand. And let us rejoice & exult in our hope of experiencing & enjoying the glory of God.
3 Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult & triumph in our troubles & rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure & affliction & hardship produce patient & unswerving endurance.
4 And endurance (fortitude) develops maturity of character (approved faith & tried integrity). And character [of this sort] produces [the habit of] joyful & confident hope of eternal salvation. 5 Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us.
6 While we were yet in weakness [powerless to help ourselves], at the fitting time Christ died for (in behalf of) the ungodly.
Romans 8:34-38 AMPC
34 Who is there to condemn [us]? Will Christ Jesus (the Messiah), Who died, or rather Who was raised from the dead, Who is at the right hand of God actually pleading as He intercedes for us?
35 Who shall ever separate us from Christ’s love? Shall suffering & affliction & tribulation? Or calamity & distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword?
36 Even as it is written, For Thy sake we are put to death all the day long; we are regarded & counted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.
38 For I am persuaded beyond doubt (am sure) that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor things impending & threatening nor things to come, nor powers,
39 Nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 12: 10-16 AMPC
10 Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another. 11 Never lag in zeal & in earnest endeavor; be aglow & burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.
12 Rejoice & exult in hope; be steadfast & patient in suffering & tribulation; be constant in prayer.
13 Contribute to the needs of God’s people [sharing in the necessities of the saints]; pursue the practice of hospitality.
14 Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless & do not curse them.
15 Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others’ joy], & weep with those who weep [sharing others’ grief].
16 Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things] & give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits.
1 Thessalonians 3:1-7 KJV
1 Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone; 2 And sent Timotheus, our brother, & minister of God, & our fellow labourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, & to comfort you concerning your faith:
3 That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed there unto. 4 For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, & ye know.
5 For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, & our labour be in vain.
6 But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, & brought us good tidings of your faith & charity, & that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you: 7 Therefore, brethren, we were comforted over you in all our affliction & distress by your faith:
2 Thessalonians 1:4-8 KJV
4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience & faith in all your persecutions & tribulations that ye endure:
5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, & that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, & from the glory of his power;
10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, & to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. 11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, & the work of faith with power:
12 That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, & ye in him, according to the grace of our God & the Lord Jesus Christ.
Revelation 1:9-11 NKJV Vision of the Son of Man
9 I, John, both your brother & companion in the tribulation & kingdom & patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God & for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, & I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet,
11 saying, “I am the Alpha & the Omega, the First & the Last,” & “What you see, write in a book & send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, & to Laodicea.”
Revelation 2:8-11 NKJV The Persecuted Church
8 “And to the [a]angel of the church in Smyrna write,
‘These things says the First and the Last, who was dead, and came to life: 9 “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a [b]synagogue of Satan. 10 Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
11 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death.” ’…..
Rev 2 - The Corrupt Church – 18 “And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, ‘These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, & His feet like fine brass:
19 “I know your works, love, service, faith, & your patience; & as for your works, the last are more than the first. 20 Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach & seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality & eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, & she did not repent.
22 Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, & those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds.
23 I will kill her children with death, & all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds & hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.
Revelation 7: 13-17 AMPC
13 Then, addressing me, one of the elders [of the heavenly Sanhedrin] said, Who are these [people] clothed in the long white robes? And from where have they come?
14 I replied, Sir, you know. And he said to me, These are they who have come out of the great tribulation (persecution), & have washed their robes & made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 For this reason they are [now] before the [very] throne of God & serve Him day and night in His sanctuary (temple); & He Who is sitting upon the throne will protect & spread His tabernacle over & shelter them with His presence.
16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun smite them, nor any scorching heat.
17 For the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, & He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life; & God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
