The Biblical Foundations of Dreams and Visions to his People and Prophets

Dear Brothers and sisters in Jesus our Beloved. Did you realise, That the Lord speaks to his Prophets threw dreams and visions? Well it is true Biblicaly. So lets just see what the Lord has to say about Dreams and Visions in relation to his Prophets and People. I know my grammer is off at times, But I'll try my best to Do this piece. I want to Start with Numbers 12.6 because I think this lays an very importand Biblical foundation, in regards to Dreams and Visions
Numbers 12.6
And he said, Hear now my words; If there be a Prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known to him in a vision, and will speak to him in a dream.
This is a powerful piece of Scripture. Because our God is telling us - his people, Just How he comunicates with his Prophets in his own words. In this scripture above, our Heavenly Father makes himself know to his Prophets and people in Visions and speaks to them in Dreams.
Owe how Wonderful our heavenly Father is to his People and Prophets. For the Lord speaks to me in this way about many things As you know. He Speaks and shows his Prophets things to Come in this way. Such as he has done all through biblical History.
Many Pastors in churches Today, would like to just Disregard Dreams and Visions the Lord Gives his People and Prophets. But I say how can they Still Do this today, with All the Biblical Foundation of Dreams and Visions to the contrary.
For instance, Just in Genesis Alone, there are 21 referances to Dreams and 2 references to Visions. Since there is sceptisism among our master preachers of today who are in Biblical denial and or still just not sure about Dreams and Visions, I will list these references in Genesis for you.

Genesis 15;1 in a vision to Abraham and in Genesis 46;2 in a vision to Jacob.
So even in the Beginning the Lord has spoken to people and his Prophets in this way, then Certainly this is nothing new for God, for it is Just the way he our God Chooses to do it. Biblical Scripture, backs Dreams and Visions up in the beginning in the Book of Genesis. Thus Proving that God Works in Such Ways with Dreams and Visions.
This is Great News not only for those in the beginning of biblical history, but for us heir today in these Last days - Amen, But Lets Go Further on Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord. Lets see just how many times the Lord spoke to his people and Prophets in the bible threw Dreams and Visions.
Lets see, - How about Gideon and that ((Dream)) that preceeded Gideons Victory over the Mindinites? in Judges 7;13 through chaper 8. This Dream and the interpretation Clearly and Biblicaly lead to Gideons Victory. Why? Because God Gave this Dream to one of Gidions Men that so Gideon would hear the dream and its interpretation. Thus Gideon belived it was from the Lord, For Gideon then said in judges 7;15 Arise; for the Lord has Deliverd into your hand the host of Midian...
Lets See, - How about when the Lord apeared before Soloman to speak with him in a ((Dream 1st Kings 3;5 ? Is not the Lord our God Speaking to Soloman through a ((Dream)) here? Sure is... So try to understand the Biblical importances of God and Dreams and Visions. this is a way God Worked then and still works today.
Now I would like to point out another Very interesting scripture in
Job 33;15 it says ""In a dream, night vision", when deep sleep falls on people as they sleep". Here Job describes Dreams as Night Visions. As does Isaiah in - Isaiah 29;7. refering a likeness between Dreams as Night Visions as being one in the same.
These Dreams and Visions From the Lord Got so popular in its early biblical time, that many people came and started speaking about their own dreams and visions, that Clearly the Lord God Did Not Give. And So, the Lord Answered this Growing Problem, that was growing between those prophets who had "legitamnent" dreams and visions <virses> those who were just making up lies to "Mislead" his people by "illegitament" dreams and visions. For instance, lets look at Jeremiah 23;32 and read very closely to what the Lord is saying heir.
Jeremiah 23;32
I, the Lord, affirm that I am opposed to those Prophets who "Dream" up lies and report them. they are misleading my people with their reckless lies. I did not send them. I did not commision them. they, are not helping these people at all.
Heir Clearly the Lord is against these who lie about dreams and visions, to purposely mislead his people. However, does the Lord permanently do away with all dreams and visions? NO, for Back up and take a Close look at Jeremiah 23;28
Jeremiah 23;28
Let the Prophet who has had a dream go ahead and tell his dream. Let the Person who has received my message report that message Faithfully. What is like straw can not compare to what is like grain. I, the Lord, Afirm it.
Clearly the Lord is Not doing away with dreams and visions. but rather saying simply those who lie about dreams and visions are like straw but pretending to be grain. Because it is the Lord that confirms the dream or vision - He our Lord, knows the difference between what is a lagitament vision or dream that is for the people of the Lord to help them, and those who lie in dreams and visions that lead people astray and into confusion.
He our Lord states, Let the Prophet go ahead and tell his dream and the one who has received the message, (Tell that dream or message "Faithfully") and not to Lie.
For he who gives his Prophets Dreams and Visions (The Lord our God) will also Afirm it. but those who lie, the Lord will not afirm it. Because it is a lie, ment only to discurage andLead his people astray.
Since dreams and visions are apart of these last days, such as witten in Joel 2;28 and Acts 2;17 we should also be awair as Gods people, that some like in the past, may tell a lie about their dreams and visions from the Lord. to purposely lead people in to confusion. For without a doubt, in these last days, there are many people with dreams and visions.
The Lord takes this Seperation of his Prophets and those Prophets who lie by dreams and visions a little further by alowing you to see a difference between them. look at the differnce decribed between those who are the Lords prophets and those who are not. in regards to dreams and visions by the way they Get their dreams and Visions. in Jeremiah 29;8 read closely..
Jeremiah 29;8
" For the Lord God of Israel who rulesover All says, Do not let the Prophets or those among you who claim to be able to predict the future by >(Divination)< deceive you. And do not pay any attention to the dreams that you are incurageing them to dream.
Just what does >(Devination)< mean??? Lets look that up in the dictionary. So we don't misunderstand the word the Lord chose to give heir - ok. Because the Lord is saying heir don't believe any prophet or person who gets their information about the future by >(Divination)< Or from those who are "incuraged" by others to dream.
Divination;
1; Seeking knowledge by supernatural means; the methods or practice of attempting to fortell the future or discovering the unknown through Omens, Oricals, or supernatural powers etc...
2; A Prophecy or Prediction.
3; Premonition; a premonition or feeling of forbodingn about something that is going to happen.
It is clear, that those who seek such dreams and visions other than Gods - such as through Omens, Oricals, or supernatural powers, Are False prophets of God. or by Preminition or prediction a ones self or others wich is also called a Form of Prophecy or premonition - yet False.
But Only True prophecy is that which is given by God through a dream or vision that comes true.
False people or prophets, The bible tells us we have nothing to worry about in regards to their predictions. So Fear not and seek Not Prophecy by mans preminitions or false reports given by Any other false gods Like -- statues or demonds or the acccult or witch or warlock or witch doctor or by indian shawman or by drugs indused alushions or by tribal witchcraft and witch doctors or by star gazors or by astrolagy or by sience or or by Theory or by cristals or by cristal ball or weige boards or tarrow cards or by horoscopes or by mediums or are unclean in spirit or by music or news or paper or religion or the demonic or demons or even Satan him self. Who is the father of lies. From these Wicked stay far From.
The Lord our God is the only one, who can accurately and truly give dreams and visions to his people and Prophets about the true future. Prophecy is to help his people either by guidance or warning, to inform us and to inspire us. We receive them by Whom is, the Eternal inspiarion and purpose of Prophecy for us all, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Know Also that our Lord is Much more than a Prophet, For he is the only begotten son of God.
The Clash of those who were liers in Prophecy and false prophets Against those of Gods true Prophets came to a head in the Book of Daniel - in regards to the King of Babylons (Dream). such as in Daniel 2;3
Daniel 2;3
The King told them, " I have had a dream, and I am axious to understand the dream
God works in wonderful ways amen. he gave the King of Babylon the Dream of the furture of the world and nations who would rule it till the Lord our Rock returns. But not one of the kings present furtune tellers or wiseman could tell the king his dream - so all were to be gathered up and about to be sent to their deaths.
Yet, Their was a known Prophet in this kingdom, who knows that God still gives dreams and visions and that His God could even interprit this kings dream. Daniel stood up to the king and asked for time, So Daniel could go and Pray to the God of Abraham so he could tell the King his dream and interpretation, in Daniel capter 2. Please Read this whole chapter to find out its Written testimony and truth. then we can go on to the next piece.
Now notice, very closely from not only how Daniel got the kings dream, wich was from God threw much prayer, But Also how God Gave it to Daniel in what he called a Night Vision - which we know from Job in 33;15, is but a Dream. now lets read from Daniel 2;19

19 -Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
Then Yes, Daniel did bless the God of Heaven from Daneil 2;20 - through - 2;23 for God reveiling the Kings matter concerning his Dream. For God knows all things, So when we want to know something hidden like a secret or about a certain Prophecy, simply Go to the True source, The one who knows all things. God our heavenly Father in prayer just as Daneil did - Amen.
Now lets not only read all 12 chapters of Daniel, but lets count all (18)references to Dreams in Daniel... Just for good messure - Daniel 2;3 - 2;4 - 2;5 - 2;6 - 2;7 - 2;9 - 2;26 - 2;28 - 2;36 - 2;45 - 4;5 - 4;6 - 4;7 - 4;8 - 4;9 - 4;18 - 4;19 - 7;1.
So Certainly the Lord used Deams in Daniel to not only get his word across but to fortell the future - to show the difference from those who were true as his prophets and those who were false prophets. To show that it is God who controls the kingdoms of man, to show that God does know all things. it shows that God is still using Dreams and Visions as his way to reveil unknown things and speak to his people and Prophets.
By doing so God saved Daniels life from the king of babylon who would have certainly killed him if he had not the dream and interpretation there of. Praise God, it must have been huge a releif to Daniel after God gave it to him in the Night Vision (Dream). but more importantly Daniel had Faith in God, who knows all things. God is worthy of our Praise amen.. May we all Give God the Praise for all the dreams and visions he gives us to his Glory.
Now, in Micah 2;1 - We see that even Evil people can and do dream. Those that are evil, can think about evil things even on their beds at night. who then dream evil dreams and then as soon as they wake up, they carry out their evil plans, just because they can. lets read.
Micah 2;1
Those who devise evil plans are as good as dead, those who dream about doing Evil as they lie in bed. As soon as morning dawns they carry out their plans, because the have the power to do so. Thus we know that the evil and the faithful both dream.
Now, To those who think to them selfs saying, "Dreams and Visions that's just Old Testiment stuff and God don't work like this any more? Let me just say that the Bible tells differently to that thought. Because in Mattew 1;20 We see that the Lord sent an Angel to apear to Joseph, in a "Dream" to Tell Joseph that the unborn child in Mary was not from another man, but from the Holy spirit. Lets read. Mattew 1;20

When he had contimplated this, an angel of the Lord apeared to him in a "Dream" and said, " Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, Because the Child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
You see, our God even knows our thoughts that we contemplate, and can make amends for that, through Dreams to staighten us out in the Lord, for I think every man would have been thinking the same thing Joseph was, For if their girl they planed to marry, who we haven't even slept with yet, suddenly ended up pregnant - Wow, much worry was on this mans mind I'll tell you that. Joseph must have been a Very stonge man of faith in the Lord from that Dream of the angle, to have accepted this truth about the Holy spirit. Thank you Joseph for having Great Faithin Gods Dream with the Angle Amen... Blessed are those who put all their trust in the Lord. Amen.
Then it wasn't long after the Birth of Jesus our Savior, that the Lord sent his angle in A "Dream" to Warn Joseph to Flee to Egypt to escape King Harod's decree to kill the very young children of his province. in Mattew 2;12-13 Again Joseph listened and acted accordingly. lets read...
Mattew 2;12-13
12 - After being warned in a "Dream" not to return to Harod, they went back by another route to their own country. 13 - After they had gone, An angle appeared to Joseph in a "Dream" and said, " Get up, take the child and his mother and flee to Egypt, and stay there untile I tell you, For Herod is going to look for the child to kill him.
Wow, through Dreams the Lord can and dose warn us of dangers to come and save our lifes and those of others amen. Joseph knew these dreams were not like average dreams, He just knew that he knewand acted in Faith, it was from the Lord Amen. for proof that the Lord can save a life form judgment threw another dream, look at Mattew 27;19 The Lord is good Amen. In Mattew I found 6 references to dreams in Mattew 1;20 - 2;12 - 2;13 - 2;19 - 2;22 - 27;19.
Now the old and new testiment shift is that dreams and visions are in Both. this carry over from the old testiment in Joel 2;28 comes up again in the new testiment in Acts 2;17. as Biblical Proof Dreams play a part of the old testiment as well as in the new. More imortantly for both you and me of today, which we call the last days, end times, Etc..
Now Lets list Both of these as there are written in Joel 2;28 and Acts 2;17 so you can see for your selfs the coralation between old and new and their importance to you and all of Gods people of today. lets read..
Joel 2;28 (Old testiment)
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and daughters shall "Prophecy", your old men shall dream "Dreams", your young men shall see "Visions".
Acts 2;17 (New Testiment)
And it shall come to pass in the last days, Saith God, I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your "sons" and your "daughters" shall "Prophecy",and your young men shall see "Visions", and your old men shall "Dream Dreams".
So without a doubt, This is a Key way the Lord our God has Chosesn threw Dreams and Visions so his People, both Man and Woman could Prophecy - How? Threw dreams and visions.
My Personal Testimony of these dreams and visions is that a "Female Prophet" or(prophetess) - I met at a Tent Revival on the indian Reservation, came down from the podium during service and told me things about me only the Lord showed me years before in relations to my dreams and visions, Then she Prophecied about the future things, about My own life. No one knew these things, because I never told them before. When she came through the croud and puuled me to the front and told me, Wow - I was just Blown away... See how the Lord Works? Simply Awesome. Praise the Lord amen.
We look back at Acts 2;17 and right their it wil tell you, Both ((Sons and Daughters)) shall Prophecy. But the Lord showed me proof of this even before I knew this in scripture Amen. I brought up this in scripture - for those women who have been rejected unjustly by Men Who think Prophecy is just for Men. Well I think this blows that Male prideful idea out of the water and permenantly lays this to a rest.
So now lets move on to Visions. Again we start with numbers 12;6 because I think it is a vital piece of Scripture that helps us understand Both Dreams and Visions. read and hear very closely what our Lord has to say.
Numbers 12;6
And he said, Hear now my Words; If there be a "Prophet" among you. I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a "Vision". and I will speak unto him in a "Dream".
You know, For me, in Visions, they are much like dreams, but after you have a Vision, you realise that you were Awake during it. this is the only difference. In a Vision, they seem as real as Dreams, when one is dreaming. Very few people can realise they are in a Dream or Vision until they awake from the dream or come out of the vision.
We All have Both - Good dreams and Bad dreams. Just like in life we see and exspiriance the good with the bad. it is so in dreams as well. Most dreams Are for Self edification - to perhaps give us exspiriance, wither good or bad that we might not exspiriance in our dayly lifes. Our response to those at times and how we feel about them are one relation to how we might respond or Not respond in that situation. The Body sleeps, but ones spirit is awake. But no one likes Bad dreams. so For me, I like to pray and ask God for Good dreams not bad ones. this helps if I am having bad dreams.
Only the Lord our God of the Holy bible can Give us true Dreams and Visions concerning Biblical Prophecy. For instance, Our Lord may give you a dream and or vision - and only after you do some biblical research, then you realise its Biblical and Prophetic significance. In this way the Lord may confirm your Dream or Vision in this way. But the Lord has countless ways to confirm his Dreams and Visions to you. Just Be open to realise them, when confermation happens. then you'll have more confidence in the Lord who said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you. Amen
A true Personal and Prayerful Relationship with the Lord Helps every one to understand these things much better. The More I read the Holy scripture and Biblical Prophecy, the More I see the truth in the Dreams and Visions the Lord Gives me. in as such Our Relationship Grows ever Stronger and give me hope and knolage for the future - The bible states - My people perish for a Lack of Knolage.
Personaly I don't see how I could have lasted this long in this world today without my personal relationship with the Lord - in fact, I shouldn't even be Alive. but the Lord is very Graceful, Merciful, Powerful and Highly Protective of his children - Praise Be to the Lord Amen.
So Protective, that Our Lord may in special cases warn those he loves threw Dreams and Visions, So We Can Take Apropreate action or be prepaired to take action before what ever it is, he is warning us About Happens.
Prophecy through Dreams and Visions the Lord Gives you, is a way the Lord Works and has worked through out history. God tells us History even before it happens, this is Prophecy. It is a Spiritual thing, For in the Last days I will pour out my spirit upon All Flesh - Right? and the result of that old men shall dreams and young shall see Visions of History in the future - Proof in Acts 2;17 and Joel 2;28

God spoke to Isreal in a (Vision) during the night and said, Jacob, Jacob! He replied, Here I Am!
You see, The Lord our God speaks to his people in Visions as well. Let me Add a Warning however, Since Both Good and and Evil people have Dreams and Visions alike, How do we tell them apart? Who is telling the Truth and is of God and who is telling a Lie and is of the devil?
Good Question, Lets Go to Deuteronomy 13;1-3 this helps you to understand the differences. read very close
Deu 13; 1-4
1 - If their arise among you a Prophet or a Dreamer of Dreams, And Giveth thee a sign or a wonder, 2 - And the sign or wonder comes to pass, Werefore he spoke unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou has Not known and let us serve them; 3 - (Thou Shalt NOT) hearken unto The words of That, Prophet or dreamer of dreams; for the Lord your God Proveth you. to know whether ye love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. 4 - Ye Shall walk after the Lord your God, and Fear him , and Keep his Commandments, and obey his Voice, and ye sall serve him, and cleave unto him.
So it is clear, that if any Prophet or Dreamer of Dreams gives you a sign or wonder, Then, says Lets Go after other gods and serve them, That you shall NOT listen to their words or do them. For this Directly Violates the Commandment of God. ((Exodus 20;3 Thou Shalt Have No other gods before me))
So if any one points to any other God other than our God of the Holy bible, they are wrong. if any Prophet with Dreams and or Visions, says lets go to another god, Then Stay away from that person and listen NOT to them, for they are Not a Prophet of the True and only God of the Bible. Even if they Give signs and Wonders listen and Fallow them NOT. So be not deceived... for a true prophet would never redirect you to any other God or from our savior Jesus for God without Jesus is as wrong as Jesus without God. Nor would Gods Prophet deny the Commandmets of God or tell you to deny them. Also, A True Prophet Takes the whole Bible as Fact, NOT in theory.
